We are the Friends of the .04 Trolley<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The very last streetcar to operate in Denver, CO.
Our mission is to support the cosmetic restoration with  fund raising and technical support.
Friends is a IRS 501(c)(3) and your contribution is tax deductible.<\/p>\n\n\n

The .04 arriving  in downtown Denver 1:19 AM July 2, 1950 making this the very last streetcar to operate in revenue service. Second from the left is E.R. McIntosh, C.C. Childres Dispatcher. The motorman was Frank Wheatley, next to him is Thurston Cox, Superintendent of Central Division; next to him is R.E. (Dicky) Lichtenheld, dispatcher; and the supervisor is Kenny McFarland. Colorado Preservation, Inc. was incredibly important in saving the .04 as without\u00a0their intervention, the car likely would not have been preserved. The listing of the .04 on their “Most Endangered Places” was instrumental in gathering support for this project. This was was recognized during the 2022 “Places Saved” presentation.
