This is detailed in the Library\u2019s Collection Management Policy.<\/p>\n<p>Due to limitations of space and arrangement, new materials must often displace existing materials. Titles may be removed from the Library\u2019s collection due to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Poor physical, worn, or mutilated conditions<\/li>\n<li>Materials which contain obsolete or outdated information<\/li>\n<li>Superseded editions of specific titles<\/li>\n<li>Materials no longer of interest or demand<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Deselection of Library materials, known as \u201cweeding,\u201d is an essential part of maintaining a useful collection. The Library follows \u201cweeding\u201d guidelines from current, authoritative sources and criteria defined in the <i>Red Feather Mountain Library District Collection Management Policy.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Item use is a primary determinant of member interest and value.
