\nMany library meetings are operational or work meetings. Public discussion at these meetings is
\nnecessarily limited so that the Library Board and Staff can complete their work in a timely
\nmanner.
\nThe following guidelines applies to public discussion at Library work meetings:
\nA sign-up sheet will be available, first come, first serve, for those wishing to speak and
\nmust be completed before speaking.
\nPublic discussion is limited to 5 minutes each.
\nNo more than 4 individuals will be permitted to speak per meeting.
\nGroup discussion is not permitted. Rather, a spokesperson must be selected.
\nLanguage and behavior must be appropriate for a public event.
\nBoard members and staff will not necessarily respond to comments.
\nComments should be specific to the Library, Library services and operation.
\nSigns, posters, and\/or other distractive elements are prohibited in the meeting.
\nAudience members should refrain from comment while others hold the floor.
\nObscene, harassing, derogatory language is prohibited.
\nAt a majority vote by the Library Board, a public hearing can be scheduled for a future
\ntime.<\/p>\n
