\nResidents of Red Feather Mountain Library District are entitled and
\nencouraged to request a library-use card that entitles the bearer to participate
\nin or share many library services, including the borrowing of materials and
\naccess to electronic resources.
\nOther residents of Colorado can apply for a library-use card through the
\nColorado Libraries Collaborate reciprocal library card program.
\nTemporary or occasional area visitors are able and encouraged to apply for
\nDistrict library-use cards as well. Library-use cards are issued to non-resident
\napplicants (outside of the Colorado Libraries Collaborate program) on a case-
\nby-case basis as determined by the Library Director. There is no distinction in
\napplication or use between cards held by residents, Colorado Libraries
\nCollaborate card holders and non-residents.
\nLibrary cards are issued by application and entail providing sufficient contact
\ninformation for library management and agreeing to abide by Library rules.
\nExcept for presenting an earlier version of a Red Feather Mountain Library
\nDistrict card, applicants must present a photo identification card or certificate,
\nor other acceptable form of identification as determined by the Library
\nDirector.
\nOnline registration is encouraged; the library will make sufficient effort to
\nensure the accuracy of provided information. Applicants living outside of the
\nRed Feather Mountain Library District Library Card Policy March 21, 2023 page 2
\nLibrary District or otherwise not owning property or other interest within are
\nsubject to a case-by-case review by the Library Director.
\nApplications for those under the age of 17 must be co-signed by a parent or
\nother legal guardian.
\nCardholders may authorize other individuals to use the card as noted on the
\napplication form or user record.
\nUser information is confidential and is only available to the cardholder or
\nlibrary staff members and volunteers that have administrative access to the
\naccounts. Law enforcement personnel have access only through legally
\nprescribed channels.
\nIn rare circumstances user cards may be debarred from use; through the
\naccumulation of unpaid fines, unreturned borrowed materials or a continuing
\nfailure to abide by library rules. These are considered temporary restrictions or
\nexclusions that may be remedied by the return of materials, payment of fines
\nor the promise and application of abiding by library rules.<\/p>\n
