\nrequested by users yet not held by the Library. Conversely, the Library will
\nappropriately lend locally owned materials to other authorized institutions.
\nInterlibrary loan enhances collection development by insuring as best possible
\nusers can receive wanted materials in a timely fashion, whether local or borrowed.
\nInterlibrary loan borrowing is intended for those outside materials that have local
\nlimited value, are of prohibitive cost, do not meet Library collection development
\nstandards, cannot be purchased in a timely fashion or are otherwise unavailable or
\nunsuitable for purchase.
\nLending is reciprocal. Red Feather Community Library, upon receipt of properly
\nplaced requests through established channels will lend materials to authorized
\nagencies as determined through regional, state, and national agreements.
\nHowever, local materials in high demand, new or of limited availability, limited
\naccess local history, rare items or of difficult-to-replace value, are physically
\nunable to withstand the wear and tear of transport or, as otherwise are determined
\nby the Library Director to be unsuitable for interlibrary loan may not be lent.
\nThe Library will honor the varying codes of lending and borrowing agencies and
\nconsortiums as defined through cooperative agreement.
\nThe placing and handling of interlibrary loan requests is determined by the
\nLibrary\u2019s Interlibrary Loan Handling Procedure.<\/p>\n
